interested in thoughts as to 2007 six in relation to other years 5/6 through to 8/9 as minister of finance has finally succumbed to the dishevelled and depressed person shuffling around house (me) :D :D

HAVE JUST SEEN THREAD BELOW>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>SHALL READ THROUGH........cheers

lower thread suggests not so good as road bike ...??????????? riding position or other....would end up as commuter and weekend runs as current old zxrc model is used

Craig they are all good bikes & each has its own merits, save bucks & get the 05-06 you wont be disapointed, get the later models & get better brakes but less cc's,as for comfort they are sports bikes... say no more.

I've got no complaints for commuting 6 days a week.

Awesome fun for weekend rides, great brakes, confidence inspiring handling, very stable.... Smooooooooth :D

As Rob said they don't have as much poke down low as the 636 and the 09 10, the latter being due to weight reduction and engine modifications.

It's not a question of 'not a good roadbike' as they are a phenomenally good bike, it's just that when ridden in comparison to other bikes there is something not quite as good in relative terms.

It depends what you're happy with and want from your bike.

Reviews and Discussion say the 09/10 tramples the 05/06/07/08 on most counts, and the 05/06 and 07/08 have advantages and disadvantages over each other. Test rides time! :kuda:

As a roadbike / commuter I reckon you'd be happier with either the 05-06 or if your budget allows a 09-10 model. The 07-08 IMO lacks a bit down low whereas the extra cc's of the older model have a bit more useable torque. The 09-10 Ive found will pull easily from low RPM whereas the 07-08 wont let you be that lazy and you'll need to be in the right gear more often! Otherwise they are all very good bikes 8)

As for riding position, they are Supersport designed bikes and enjoy  but in all honesty you get used to them fairly quickly!

Any model will be a hoot on weekends :kuda:

Having previously owned an '07 ZX6 I would say go the '08 if you want that shape or get one with a build date after 04/07....Just my 2c :kuda:

THANKS FOR INPUT PEOPLE KEEP THEM COMING
after reading both ZX6 threads.... the 07/08 appears was the interim bike ...less bottom and mid unless ridden a gear lower and pushed (is that the cure)...early builds of same had a costly motor glitch right?? (so how do i read a vin number to check build date ??????)...09/10 ???is current model and best of 599cc machines...and stacks up pretty well in comparison articles

so consensus appears to be 05/06 or current model  practices dishevelled and depressed look again.... ;) ........wonder if it'll work twice in quick succsession ..took three and a half years to get to here :x
