97 ZX9R B4 Australian Spec help

Hey,

First post here on your lovely Forum :)
I'm from New Zealand, and Im trying to find out any information about the bike I just purchased. Its a 1997 Kawasaki ZX9R B4, apparently its AS, or Australian Spec.
I was just wondering if anyone knew the HP of the bike? I have seen quite a few manuals for it, and some of them state the peak Torque, but none of them state the HP, as far as I could see anyway.

Is anyone able to enlighten me?

Also - Anyone know the difference between the AS and the US etc?

Cheers
WanaGo

Hey,

Thanks for the link!
141Hp, nice :)

Does anyone know the difference between the specs, or know of anyone I should contact? Does anyone know of a Kawasaki contact who actually replies to emails? :?

Cheers
WanaGo

Welcome Wanago "U GOTTA LUV TH' 9", but you'd be damn lucky to find one that pushes 135 rear wheel ponies. Depends more on the dyno then anything else though. Anyway mate enjoy the new scoot & congrats on being our First Kiwi member  Happy tagging when you get some stickers.
Cheers Brett

According to the manuals for my bikes (no '9, sorry) the US spec loses 3-4 hp. Presumably because of the California emissions laws and the subsequent extra plumbing.
