At last, at last, at last,
I'm done, for the time being at least, but what a couple of weeks.
Managed to get everything back the end of last week and finished putting everything back together Sunday and Monday.
I have a few recomendations, Chain Gang in Qld did a great job of fitting up new rotors to my old carriers, I had to wait a while but that was mainly due to the xmas holiday. They reckon 9 times out of ten they can turn round discs in a few days, if they have them in stock.
Nice job, decent carbon steel, well fitted and the guys up there always let you know what was happening. 8 out of 10.
Down side is they don't check for balance on the discs before returning, so if you know they are out of true(feedback through lever) before you send them, you will need to get them trued up.
Found a real nice guy down here in Sydney called Laurie Anderton, down in Smithfield (also straightens frames etc). Turned up Monday morn on spec and he sorted them straight out, half hour I was on my way.
Went and picked up a couple of pairs of Kevlar pads to go with the new discs, thought they were a little pricey at $60 a pair (EBC from Kelen Kawa in Penrith) any feedback would be good for next time.
Got home and gave the calipers the once over and fitted it all up.
All the plastics (fresh paint aswell) went back on and hey presto, finished.
During the down time, gave her a fresh oil and filter and a new air filter.
Took the headers off and got rid of all the surface rust and treated them to some high temp black, polished everything from the 4 into 1 back including the can, bolted all that back up aswell.
The rear seat cowl didn't come out to bad either, the old camel hump has reared its head again, fits up well and I'm happy with it.
New mini blinkers on the front fit up well too, I'm pleased with them, match up nicely with rears.
All in all, over the last 2 1/2 months I've got to know my bike well and I've really enjoyed it. I'm real happy with the way she's scrubbed up and I'm leaving you with a few shots.

Phil, chain gang let me down and didn't get the discs back till Monday morn, I read your report and I'm really pissed I couldn't get out with you guys, next time.

Thank you mister administrator sir.

Now all I've gotta get is one of them picture, signature thingy's. Might need some computer boff to help me out with that one.

It's great to be back guys and girls.
Later, have a good one.

I suspect your discs may be done by Aussie Discs in QLD... quoted $220 per disc for the wavey look.. dunno what they look like though.

Looks nice, Simmo will be jealous :)

Very nice Damon,
For brake pads, get out to the track and see Whites racing. They will sell you a set of gold fren s3 ceramic carbon race pads for about $35 a pair.

Hows the other stuff coming on...

Thanx boys,
Dave- I should have known to ask you for a price on pads, durhhh, I always find out when its too late. No patience thats the problem.
Your front guard is in primer and the hugger is bogged , in the process of reshaping it a little so that it fits up better, I'll keep you informed.

Brett- Yeah I knocked the pattern up for that cowl a while ago, just aint had the chance to mould and make one up.

How much of a pain in the arse was matching that paint, I only wanted to put fresh paint on side and lower fairing, ended up doing all except tank and tail, my bikes had fresh paint before and whoever mixed the paint didn't do a good job, it was a little darker so I had to blow the screen fairing in aswell.PPG Kawasaki lime green is the way to go, I'm lucky, got a mixing shop at work.Would have been $68 1/2 litre!!!

I filled her up with that new Mobil singing and dancing higher octane gas, and I swear she's got more pony's(oil change may of helped),discuss anyone..............

Yankee- Here you go............$25 pr at MCA

Damon, you should know I'm cheap...:-)

I thought we were getting c/f guards moulded of the one I gave ya...:-)
I'm sure there's a market for em, especially if it fits the 6, and I believe it does....

Hey Dave,
Your worrying again, I have to get jobs pucker in primer before I top coat then mould.
Your gonna love your c/f bits, just don't drop the bike or I may have to do full fairings
Should get em sorted in the next few weeks, if I can stop riding.
WOO HOO!!
