Hey,
I could be wrong but I thought only the zx6rr had the frame mount for that style of mounting configuration. For the zx6r, with a damper like that you need a big ass mounting bracket that runs the damper parallel to the top toke in between the yoke and tank. I think harris, hyperpro and others would have mounts you could have a geez at on the net. Good luck.

That looks like one of the cheap POS dampers that a few eBay shops are selling .... universal, no fitting instructions included, etc, etc. Kinda like the Yoshimura rearsets on eBay ... they're thieves.

I'm not sure that you'll be able to use it (it may not be the correct length or stroke) but the idea is that you find somewhere you can attach one fitting (the one half-way along the damper body) to somewhere on the bike that doesn't move when you steer, and the other end to somewhere that does move when you steer (upper triple clamp, lower triple clamp or fork leg). You then need to ensure that the steering retains its full range of motion and that the rod through the damper doesn't foul upon anything anywhere in the range of motion.

Knowing how tight it is under the front of an '06 636 I won't be surprised if you don't find anywhere to fit it, but I may be surprised. Good luck.

Pull ya head in Hoffy ... I've got eBay rearsets and think they're fine. They're model specific, clearly made to a price, but are reasonable quality and fit well. There's a small number of them labelled as "Yoshimura" (which they aren't, they're fake) which are promoted as "universal" (which they aren't) and sold to unsuspecting punters (which there are plenty of) by thieves .... oh, and it's they're shit, not their shit :)

Cool. Just out of interest, was the eBay one any good as a dampener - was the rod slow to move through the body, and did adjusting it make it easier and harder to move?

BTW, I dont believe you have provided ample justification for fitting a steering damper to your bike..sorry motorcycle.. to the appropriate 'KSRC authorities' !!

You will have 14 days to complete this and send it to:

KSRC - Parts Fitting Authorisations.
Some Street, forgot the name.
Hornsby
Sydney
Att: Dave

You will be notified on the forum if you have been approved !

Just post it to Dave in Hornsby, all the post office staff know me now anyway ... I get about a dozen submissions a week from Hoffy, everything from "is it OK for me to fit a bullbar to my barge" to "I want to fit a NOS system to my 12, so next time I hit a guardrail I'll sail all the way over the ditch rather than ending up in the bottom of it"

Quite frankly though, when he started asking about fitting a pulley system to remove his head from his own arse .... well, it's just not my area of expertise :D

Haha....very funny. you must be really struggling for material to bring the putty into it..I thought the detail of that was off-limits, OK then.

well at least I didn't backflip myself on top of the guard rail while standing next to it, 5 minutes after the accident.....oohh compo !

BTW it's not my head that needs removing from my ass, it's your head that needs removing from the issues you know little of, however feel the need to criticise other peoples motorcycles regarding it, in a fit of egotistical lecturing !

Cool off mate, and when a new member wants a hand with something, I suggest you pull your head out of your own ass and be productive and help, and if you cant shut the fuck up, rather than shooting off criticism about stuff on other peoples machines..
