hey guys im new member but have been looking on this site for years!
but now i need some of your opinions! im looking at buying a second hand zx6r ninja that was imported from the uk when the guy who owns it relocated to aus. the only concern i have is that when i need spare parts and what not am i going to be able to find them or will i have to import them(not worth it).
went to ever bike shop on the central coast and there advise is not reassuring half say its fine the others say dont go any where near it....?
if any one can help i would appreciate it
thanks guys!

About the only difference I know of with UK bikes is they require the speedo to read in Kmh - most have a dual face anyway, and well thats about it......but if it were from a European country where they ride / drive on the other side of the road then I believe the headlights require a change or adjustment to acommodate for the oncoming traffic being on the other side of the road. ( I realy am not sure about this light thing - urban myth or not?)
If it has been imported and already jumped through the RTA hoops with the previous owner and found itself legaly registered on Australian roads then it should be fine. They are all made in the same factory using the same parts so I cant understand why there is an issue on parts availability....
If however it has not been registered then it will need to be complied to meet appropriate ADR's etc.

Namely Lights / reflectors / guards and antipolution gear for the US. Speedos in Mph or Kmh or both. Nothing that cant be changed - if it hasn't already if its registered.
Still curious about that headlight issue though. I have been told by several diff people that depending on what side of the road it is to operate on the model specific to that area has headlights that are directed to the left or right away from the centre line of the road. Seems plausable but I realy do wonder if it is an urban myth

re: lights, all mine have been so close to dead straight that I can't tell the diff (yes, I check). I tend to angle 'em up a smidge, but that's it.
I vote for urban myth.

depends on the bike, and the year...
u havent mentioned what year the bike is....
if its 03-04 or 05-06 with the single headlight, u would possibly need to reverse it... as the light that is on is the left light..right is for hi beam...
that being said...i shouldnt imagine parts would be that much harder- surely kawak Aus can buy from japan stuff that was sold to the UK mob?? and then theres ebay etc...
guess it depends what price etc on the UK bike...
