New Ninja 250..

Agressive design, stiff and well equiped chassis with good braes and suspensions, new engine light and powerful... No we are not talking about the new ZX6-R but the brand new Kawasaki Ninja 250R.

With an engine powerfull all over the rev range, linear and without hips at low speeds, this new 249cc DOHC four valver per cylinder will be also a good fun giver in high revs, and for that we can trust Kawasaki.

HiRes picture
For the chassis, Kawasaki chose to stay with conventional elements, like the fork and the simple front brake. But the whole settings has been made stiffer and harder for a more sporty and nimble behaviour.
Its wheels are 17 inches and his fairings are very looking like the best sporty bikes of te Kawasaki family.

At last don't believe that this little sportsbike is too radical, its made for every kind of riders but most of all for young and recent licence owners. Less hard to ride and more comfortable (thanks to the higher handle bars) than a big Supersport, this bike will also very good in the city traffic.

More detailed information will be provided on September 27th, at the Kawasaki World
Press Conference.

That should blow the learner market apart. Now you don't have to get a grey import to get a decent looking sporty 250 8). I presume their a twin, based on the old motor.

What is the fuel economy of current 250 ?

I don't mind trading the ZX6 with this if it will make a cheap commute (and cheap spur trips)

yeah, there seems to be a lack of headers in front of the engine.

handle bars are too high for my liking. Looks half curiser and half sports but still a good looking 250.

fantastic work.

I definitely would have been on that when I was on L's..

Best looking 250 on the market hands down.

Not much difference than ZX6 then. I got about 6-7L/100 km.

when i had my old 250, i was getting 20km/litre on ulp and 22km/litre on pulp.

Definately looks like it'll be an interesting change in the market, given that yammy and honda have gone for the 125 in their revamp with no sign of a follow up 250 (then again the 125 would be for the UK/euro market that makes everyone ride a 125 for a spell).

Agreed, i'd say the chances of a similar if not the same engine as the gpx/zzr250 would be likely, given their success and the reliability those little donks have given (they've done what, no more than a 5-8% modification to the gpx/zzr250 motor in 18 years or so? mostly asthetics). More details would be good, especially a pic without the fairings / one of those electronic blow-apart pictures (no im not talking about neka with his doll).

Brilliant!
It's about time too since the 250 market is as bland as a SAO biscuit.
It's a pity 2 strokes have been killed off by the tree huggers. Imagine it. Viva la KR-1! notworthy.gif

Nice, but a bit late since most of Oz is going (or gone) to LAMS...typical, new model once the market share has gone elsewhere .

I used to get 90mpg out of my GPX250R, but they were painful, painful miles and your arse ending up hating you after a couple of hours...

...mine's still not speaking to me...hang on, maybe it is .
