Hello Guys,

I am from Atlanta GA, (US) and I got my 2005 ZX6R a couple of months ago. This is my first bike, I took the riding course and everything is going pretty well.
The only issue I THINK I have is when I reach a speed of 90, 100 + MPH I kinda feel that my rear is acting a little funny. I think it shakes or sverves a little.
I can't maintain the sped of even 90 MPH on that bike without having that feeling. I am not sure is that only me getting scared when the wind blast shakes my body while I ride the bike, or is something really wrong with the rear tire. The tire looks ok. I don't know what to do. If I am going to ask a friend of mine to ride the bike and too see what he thinks , but I would apprecite any answers you guys can give me.
Guys pls understand I am new and this may sound funny to some of you but I take the safety always first! ;)

THANKS A TON. Nick XXcomputer.gif

HI Nick welcome.... I would suggest getting your local bike shop to go for a test ride as that could be any number of problems & a seasoned bike mechanic should be able to locate the problem or at least tell you what could be going on, is there any signs of the bike being dropped, resprayed or repaired?

Could be a few things
The rear wheel is out of balance - Take it to a tyre guy and have em check it
The rear axle is not aligned - Check the notches in the axle washers are aligned the same
Tyre is out of round or stuffed - Take to a tyre guy
The frame is bent - String line it, but probly take to a pro

Generally though, if your not sure what your looking for, take it to a mechanic.

Good luck

start with the cheap, basic stuff u can do urself....

check ur tyre pressures....
check ur chain adjustment....
check ur tyre wear....

if this fails, then take the guy's advice- go see a mechanic abt frame, wheel balance etc...

From how you describe things, it just sounds as though you are missing a couple of nuts! Stop being a pussy and open the throttle!!!!!! ;)

If you're holding on to the bars real tight then any movement of your body will be transferred to the bike. I had this happen once early on with a flapping jacket at speed making the bike wobble until I relaxed a bit.

Like the blokes said i recon it's rear wheel out of alignment, Buy a sting line & a tape measure & measure it. Then take it to your local dealer for confirmation.

Normally a rear wheel out of alignment will not cause wobbles or weaves as described by bibi! However, it will most definately turn either left or right handers better, depending on which way the wheel is out of alignment!!!!!
