will a 99' zx6 rear wheel fit a 01' zx9?

I believe the front wheels are the same but don't know about the rear.

Checked the part numbers on the kawasaki website and they are different so I'm guessing the zx6 rear wheel won't fit the zx9 (zx6 narrower???)

Does anyone know for certain?

Just a word fo warning, I-K is "out of town" for most of january & has limited access to the net at this time, so you might be waiting a while for a response from him.

Got the answer from him last night. Damn this site and it's users are a great.

"That would be about right. The whole front end is interchangeable, but the rear ends are completely different. The ZX9 has a 6" wide wheel, the ZX6 is 5.5". The hubs are different, because the 9 has to space the sprocket out further, and the swingarm on the 9 is wider both across the axle and between the adjuster plates/ "

Thanks again
