95 zx6r service

Postby Spud » Tue Sep 26, 2006 8:07 pm

hey guys, just wondering if anyone knows a rough price on
what its gonna cost me for a 20,000km service, major? on the
old girl (95' F1). i know its going to be a fair amount but i need
to know what i'm up against with the finances.

i've looked it up in the service manual and there's pretty much
the total bike done, top to bottom.
too much for me to do anyway

cheers people,
Mike

it might be too much for you to do

But there is a lot that you can do to reduce the cost of what you are up for

oil, filter
air filter
plugs
coolant
brakes and fluid

easy stuff you could do in a couple of hours

other money saving tips are to remove the fairings yourself before putting into the shop

cost is going to depend on where you take it , you could easily do everything bar carb balance and valve clearances

Gonna cost you about $500 - $600 if you also want to go the extra mile and have your valve clearances checked...

all the cash goes in labour because they say it takes 5 hours plus... i think its balls.

I only had a major service done because i bought mine second hand and wanted to be sure everything wall running well. pretty big waste of money for me, $600 dollars only for them to tell me my valves were in spec....

so they basically took my bike apart and put it back together.. heh.

find a good mechanic you can trust.

You got a 10 year old plus bike that's only done 20000k? Someone lock it in a garage and bury it under a pile of tarps or something??
A good mate will bail you out of jail, a true mate will be sitting in the cell next to you saying "Damn, we fucked up!!!"
