zx6"RR"s

There seems to be an aweful lot of "RR"s appearing on eBay lately. Are they really RRs? Whats the easiest way to tell from a distance.
Case in point..... http://cgi.ebay.com.au/KAWASAKI-NINJA-ZX6-RR-2003_W0QQitemZ300014376617QQihZ020QQcategoryZ102686QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Looks to have the adjustable swingup pivot... good
Engine number and VIN at first glance seem to back up the theory, but BuyKawasaki doesn't recognise the VIN (haven't tried with my valid VIN, maybe it only picks up yank bikes)
So what are the differences between a R and a RR. Did they have different shocks or anything else? Different gearbox ratios?
So why buy an RR if your not going to race it? And with only 5800ks, whats the chance of this being track bike instead
