Re: 2011 ZX10R - Latest PCV/Akra Shorty Tuning

Hi KSRC,
Im new to the whole zx10r thing and was wondering what you mean by "gear advance mode"? Ive never really had to run an O2 optimiser before as all of my previous bikes ran O2 eliminators.
Ive bought the PCV and O2 Optimiser from Serco and in the instructions it just says activate "gear advance mode" so that it controls closed loop functions in all the gears (1 through 6) and not just 4th through 6th. It never mentioned anything about mapping each gear.

Maybe the problem is the recommended optimizer from the power commander web site is apparantley not right for Australian model ?

Sorry Shannony, I haven't been watching this thread and you had a couple of questions.

1. Ron supplied the 02 Optimiser so I don'tknow its model or specs. Serco will tell you what's recommended. I bought the servo buddy from the US as its quite a bit chaeper there. This little gizmo called the servo buddy, fools the computer into thinking the standard exhaust is on the bike so we can tune the new on the powercommander accordingly without the ECU running and thinking there was a problem. Link to order is: http://www.servobuddy.com/Kawasaki-Servo-Buddy_p_8.html

2. My map is the standard map in the PCV software. The new tubing seems to have created a sweet spot. I suspect a different Akra can would give slightly different outcomes. The torque was the real bonus that is more practical than speed/power to me - as Macca says, can't really use the stock power that was there in the first place. The real payoff is bragging rights and sounding good - I guess? The days of just a straight pipe are long gone with the current technology, unfortunately.
