I had a good poke around KHI Japan and there was no ZX2R to be found. :( No ZX4R either but there is a ZZR-400 and a ZXR-400. :)

i want those mirror turn signals!!! and like gizmo said.... why bother with a 250 for the "same-ish" price of a 6? on that note.... i reckon aussie rules/laws suck: why limit the power a learner can start on? what a waste of money!

Well the costs of tooling and design have allready been mostly met or factored in with the other models so why not have a Baby Ninja come out here. Ok everything has to be modified/miniturised , the engineering stats are allready available. So all in all it wouldn't be that costly IMO.

But then again I am no expert on these matters as I have never been interested in the toofiddly market, but sure is an eye opening bit of gear though.

well i only found the pic so it could be a computerised one. but i wounld bet money its ridgy didge. do u know how many arguments ive had with bike experts that tell me that my 2000 zx2r is an 89 model and a 2000 model doesnt exist. the 2000 model rrp was about 7000 and i dont think that thats too bad a pric copnsidering the price put on secondhand 250 for example 89 zx2r for like 5000. 5 grand for a bike thats 16 years old. why not pay a bit more for new?

Terry from the Import center up here said the new ones where not assembled in Japan but somewhere like Thailand or Korea. Not that i think it makes any difference who puts em together. They should make a new version n lots of people would pay 10k for a beginner bike that looked hornbag n went like the clappers look at all those bloody Aprillia RS250's buzzing around.

Hi,
I'm new to KSRC and thought i would jump in here and answer a few questions for yuz.
It's NOT an actual '05 model, but rather a custom designed/converted zx2r with custom fairings, nose, tail, ect. Extra indicators. 3 sets of ram-air ducts. Full custom designed exhaust system, and an MV swing arm. The frame was customised to look more sporty with its tail in the air.
It is based on the '04 zx6rr's.
I'm sure there's more to it than that, but thats what i know to be facts.

Yankee - i want those mirror turn signals!!!

Why???????? It turns a cheap set of mirrors into an expensive set of mirrors with wires and all. When you drop the bike its the first thing that smashes to pieces!!!! Also its bad enough trying to find the lights on the cars cos every sodding make has them in different places, without confusing the poor car drivers more by moving the lights on bikes too, asking for trouble that it!
Sorry mate

wow..ur bloody observant dave!!all the stuff u picked up on, i had a 2nd look & saw it too, after u pointed it out!!
are u sure aaron that ur bike ISNT a 89?? most grey import bikes are quite old, like 80-95 models, they get flogged in japan until they hit 40,000km (or sum such number) then they get exported to places like this. we have to rebuild motor, new brakes, new tyres, and new paint job etc by law b4 we can re-sell them. if u look on the comp plate it MAY say for example
"build date 12/93"
"compliance date 5/2004"
and bike shops WILL sell them as an 04....
