You've got the rear stand, why pay someone else $70- $80 per hour, do it yourself its pretty easy job, there's even a how to on here by Robracer.
Once mastered makes it cheaper also to drop off just the rim for a new tyre too.....

rob's done mine before, I got the 3D how to guide :) ... I figured given it's in there already the extra half hour of labour won't hurt me too much... I'm also more time poor than money poor at the moment so it was just more hassle free... I'm well able to removes wheels for free tyre fitting...

We did but I've been a bit of a bad boy... I ended up with a very bad tight spot, and there is no room left for adjustment anyway

but I figure I did 5 track days and about 20,000kms in the past 12 months... so it's not too bad, but I'll be aiming for better next time

OK that was not too bad....... :)
I told the mechanic to only do the clearances Plugs air filtes & sync the injectors, basically everything under the tank & that I would do everything else.
The total cost was $572 & that included all the valves needing re shimming...... best bit is they are not due for another 24,000 K's.
Add to the cost the oil & oil filter that i am doing tomorrow & the cost is not too shabby.

my valves didnt need any adjustment, athough my rocker cover gasket needed replacing, and everything needed a good clean out of dust... seems the air filter wasnt doing its job... had the carbies stripped and cleaned too

I recently did the 36,000 Km service on my 04-05 Ninja thou. Same deal... All the clearances were within spec.

Normaly the valve clearances close up as the valve/seats wear.... "Valve seat Recession".
Having said that; clearances can, and do open up, but it is not as common.
