Hi and welcome :kuda:
A few guys on here have ZX6R's and will no doubt give you unbiased opinions

but if you something older with character, I have a '94 ZXR750 (with heaps of spares) that you could convert to a trackie.... ;)

G'day and welcome

The '07 ZX6 is a great bike as a tracky. You'll want to make some sprocket changes to suit whatever track is your usual track, and you'll probably want to drop the front a fair bit to improve the turn-in response. My pit crew can provide more details on that ;)
I ended up giving my '07 tracky to my Pit Chief (I say giving, because he hasn't paid for it yet!) and picking up an '06 tracky as I prefer the front end handling, but to be honest there isn't that much difference between the two, and the '07 has a little more horsepower, even though it's the 600cc (while the '06 is the 636cc).

They're a great bike on the track, and nothing beats the feeling of overtaking 1000cc bikes on the 6's. The guys I bought my '06 tracky from took his 10 to the track and decided he had more fun on the 6, so went and bought a replacement 6 - they're *that* much fun 8) If you get one, you'll love it.

What do you ride at the moment?

I just lurve my 07 zx6r trackie. So much so that I ended up selling a 07 zx10r and buying a 2010 zx6r as a roadie! The 07 is a pretty good trackbike. The older 636 has a little more down low torque but Im finding Im learning to keep the revs right up on the 600 and getting around litre bikes when I can the 07 is a blast!!! Blurr from this site has ridden my trackie around Eastern Creek at a much MUCH faster pace than I ever have (or ever will) after never having ridden a 600 before and apart from getting a whip out down the straight reckons it was great fun.

This weekend Im putting a 5-6mm spacer in the rear shock (well Wattie's doing it whilst drinking Madkaws beers as Im not allowed to touch my own bike) to help with the geometry as its a fairly common mod to do with them. But in saying that Ive done about 6 or 7 trackdays on mine and reckon its an absolute ball so far! The other thing we are doing is a quick action throttle cause Im finding its a fairly large turn but thats a simple modification for Wattie to make for me

Three words of advice... JUST DO IT

+1 on the quick action throttle iamwithstupid.gif

I forgot about that - it's practically a necessity in my opinion!

Yep they're a very nice bit of kit. Stock handling is pretty good but they can understeer a bit on exit when you're right up it. Firey's concept of rear spacers fixes it though. Jamie Aitken was punting one around in 1.38's with bog stock suspension and only the rear jacked up 8mm. You need to be careful of the earlier build ones as some get a nasty ticking noise from the top of the engine. Disco here had the problem on his roady and got it fixed under warranty, but if it wasn't for warranty it would've been massively expensive

He had a slip on as he still run the standard cat so I don't think he had a PC3. I don't think it had a real lot done to it

I should also add it's the funnest bike I've ridden on a track. Don't get me wrong the 10 is fun, albeit scary fun but you feel like you're wringing the little 6's neck

Two words - fuck yeah. I don't think I'd own a 600 for the road, but I don't think I'd get anything else for the track. Go for it.
