I find it funny that the guy is considering Dunlop touring tyres, which would suggest the need for a hard wearing tyres, and everybody is offering opinion on soft tyres.
There is a deal on at the moment for Metzler M1s, I have done, many, many, many, many KMs on these and had no real issues. Don't get me wrong, they grip well for a harder tyre, I've even done track days on em and scraped pegs. But I got 15,000Km from each rear and 29,000Km from each front (without Trackdays). They grip Ok in the wet too (Wet track day at PI was OK). I tried Dunlop 220s, hated the profile but got maybe an extra 1000Km out of them compared with the M1s.
