Ive actually completed these mods... All you need is the brembo master/ braded lines/ race pads and race fluid. The 10 now stops like it should, no fade and heaps of stopping power. At first the 10 would fade after 5 laps of PI now i have no fade. Im hard on brakes and reasonably quik so thats the road id travel. Nissan calipes would be the final upgrade but it isnt needed. Go this way first and if you arent satisfied get the nissans or cbr1000rr calipers as they also fit. R1 calipers fit as well but you have to change to zx14 rotors...that would be the true monoblock upgarde..

did i just read correctly.... that 14 brake callipers bolt straight onto 10 06 model ??

With that in mind tho, is there really much point seeing as the disc size is only slightly larger and judging by description they sound the same, except for the brand!

i would have thought braided lines good fluid and decent pads would be the best setup...

Anyway to rig up 6 pot 12r brakes ?

You certainly did, out of all the braking mods I have done (lines, pads, m/c, fluid) the zx14 calipers were by far the most effective

hmm i wonder why the calipers made that much difference when they look very similar, zx14 and 10 that is....

on the way home from madkaws this afternoon, i was practicing my braking a little...

did about 5 good hard stops from 110km/hr abouts

no rear brake, and hard enough on the front to get it squirming and skipping a bit

all went well, so i toddle off, stop at the servo, get fuel, putt up the road, got o dab a little front brake fpr a roundabout, and lever touches my fingers...
and its on the farthest setting (1 on the lever adjuster)

it stayed spongey the rest of way home (5 mins)

it has braided lines, and good fluid,

they were fine when pulling into servo, did they go bad coz the fluid heated up while parked?? i dunno

but if they do it as bad ont he trackday, im getting a new M/C for sure!

yea on one wheel no less  The front brake wont work in this instance.

Guys just have a look at the ZX10 forum for the answers, as everyone is in the same boat with the 04 - 05 models & the conversions have been done tried tested & proven ;)
I will have to wait for the bremo MC (by far the cheapest option)& you cant get second hand 14 calipers in AUS so overseas is the only solution there but could be costly. The brembo -19x 20 radial MC can be landed for about $240 AUD but you will also need an adaptor if you are not making up your own lines (the banjo is turned 90 deg )
I dont have the info here for the brembo, but with a quick search in the net you can find some reputable stores in the states that can send them over :D
I have new pads & braided lines ... have bled the system numerous times & its still the same as the standard :? ... SHYT

thought i'd give an update. fitted an AP racing m/c i "borrowed" from a mate for a track day at PI last friday, the difference was awesome, heaps of lever. it's a pretty trick unit with a ratio adjustment that changes the equivalent cylinder bore size, (sorry, had to read this from the paperwork, i'm no mechanic). all i've gotta do now is negotiate a price with my mate, cant put the original back on now. we're going up to EC again on the 6th of oct, see how it go's there with the harder (from memory) braking. thanks for your help, cheers.

I just chucked a set of EBC HH pads on today before the GP trip. The old ones had 33,000 on them and they were only about half worn. Well I'm sure they won't do anything for the fade, but fark me they grip well
