At 100 KPH, the engine is ticking over at 4000rpm! (anyone with a 00 know if thats standard??? I think it must be close to it, as the radar displayed 102KPH when me speedo indicated 107KPH coming out of Geelong!!!!) which is in a nice smooth part of the rev range, with enough on top for normal, but not spirited overtaking. Mind you, during spirited riding, you're never much near 4000rpm are you!!!

Same with mine 25kph per 1000rpm and the error pretty much the same . Think this is with 16 T front sproket . Told that a 15 works better but Im happy with things as they are .

I need to do something with the front forks, as they are shuddering like a bastard under certain braking conditions. I thought it was the discs initially, but the lever doesn't pulse at all even at very high revolutions
I think the spring, and the damping, are having a little barney with each other under certain road conditions, causing a little hydraulic lock and patter from the front end....while upright  ! [quote"Strika"]

Interested in this one , I thought my shudder was brake disc warping when a bit warm . Please let me know of any solution .

Ummmm let me see

This is definately not brake shudder. My 636 did this a bit in certain situations too, as have a couple of Kawasakis I've owned over the years. The discs on my bike have been machined, so are flat! Plus there is no lever pulse at all at high speed. Just this front end patter in certain medium braking situations. Once either side of this braking threshold, ie- light brakes, or hammering them, it comes good. So if I can't fix the suspension, .......I'll just have to hammer it everywhere!

Have you checked the steering head bearings aren't a bit loose? They usually give that sort of symptom.

Hey that's it...Team OFAD!
I may get a little too toey with a lambswool seat cover Brett!!!

Braided lines won't help patter. I would reckon the suspension probably has oil that's done 50,000klms! It prolly doesn't help!!!

Radector Fitted....Thanks Ponti. Awesome mate!

Postby Strika » Sun Sep 03, 2006 4:34 pm

Just fitted the Pontikat Radector (TM) to the 9. It took a complete hour and ten minutes from whoa to go including removing and refitting the fairings. The worst part of the job was removing and re attaching the horn of all things. you can just loosen it and swing it up a tad, but I just wanted everything out of the way. I had to cut one small line off the side of the grill to get it to fit neatly, and lucked it for what looks like a press fit!!! :D It looks neat, but I havn't put any logos on it yet.
