zx6r clutch and power command question??

hi all, just quicking wanting to find out if the clutch in the zx6r isn't dry clutch???

and what's power commander?? seeing all the sales on the forum lately???

are they like ECU chips in cars??? they provide beffer fuel and performanace???

or just purely performance??

Definitly not a dry clutch.

Dry clutches are pretty much the exclusive territory of Ducati (I'm sure others will find plenty of exceptions to this, but its mainly the case)

As far as I know, dry clutches don't handle city driving. With no oil to dissapate the heat durring frequent use like city driving, the jus heat up and slip, making them heat up more.......

And a power commander is a piggy back ECU.

And no they don't provide "better" fuel management or performance, they provide "adjustable" fuel management.

All the manufactures spend plenty of $$ getting their engine mapping right. You just can't get much better than them yourself (Ok so maybe less that 1% because they are limited to emission restrictions)

Where a Power Commander is used is if you bike is modified, ie a full exhaust, air box mods, etc. In this case you've changed the characteristics of the engine, and it will require different fuel mapping. A Power Commander can then adjust the stock ECU's signals to better suit the new characteristics.

They are certainly an expensive little toy, that really only pays off if you have made some of the bigger changes. A slip on exhaust doesn't not constitute a "big" change and will not, usually, require a remap.
