Crim advice

Hi all,

another question regarding my 05 crim. Well I have sorted out the condensating headlight, the wobbling from rim and have now encountered a new problem.

The guy who previously owned the bike (before he traded it to the dealer) looks to have removed the orig M/C and replaced it with a Nissin of a 04 or later Gixxer. I went to replace the brake lever as it was silver and wanted black to match the clutch, though the 04 lever i purchased did not fit. when i took it back, they told me it was a Gixxer lever. I also noticed he has put braided lines on the bike.

My question after the above, is everyone recommends CBR, or zx6r/14 M/C and calipers.................any reason why he would have used a gixxer M/C???

Now i have a Kwaka lever and Gixxer lever...................lets hope i dont have a yamahahaha engine

Can you take a pic of the m/c?
A common mod was to change the m/c for one with a bigger piston size, or even a radial m/c.

If you can get a set of Nissin calipers and you've got a radial M/C you've got the worlds best brakes. Hang on to it and look for calipers.

I'm not very tech knowledgable. I'll take a pic on the weekend and post. Looks like I'll have to have silver levers but I won't do anything until I post the image

Just get some black pazzos, left side 04-05 zx10, right side gixxer - BGW will do a special order over the phone with 2 different levers for the combo price, or if you're on a budget, get some Chinese knock-offs.

Re brakes on the crim, the review I read said they were awesome, wrong wrong wrong, they stink... I think most crim owners are compelled to replace all or part of it. I went the calipers + braided lines route with stock MC but a few replace the MC instead with mixed results.

Re yamaha engine, at least it sounds good...

Thanks guys. I guess I'll use the silver finish aftermarket stuff from MCAs. For now, I suppose I'll just go with the flow.

Ride safe out there
