After installing the new pipe last night the FI light started blinking. I know it is from disconnecting the servo to the butterfly on the old exhaust. I couldn't remove the cable due to the strange screw head on the servo motor so cables are tied up. What is the solution to stop that damn thing blinking?

Most good aftermarket pipes have a replacement toggle to trick the system into thinking everything is good, without that you might have to put up with the light

unless you can make up the toggle / bracket........ you would only need a piece of alloy a drill & a bender or a good vice.

What type of screw head is it? What does it look like? If you are in Sydney you welcome to come over one weekend as I have most of the security style screw heads.

it shouldnt blink as long as you still have the servo motor connected. You dont even need the cables connected to anything at this point.

I'm in Melbourne. I'm removing cables tonight. Light started blinking this morning.. servo still runs etc.. but from reading up it can go out of line which causes light. I have a service this weekend - perhaps they can fix

My light stays on, no matter how much I adjust the block on the servo. Occasionally an adjustment will work and the light will stay off for 2 kms or so, then turn on and stay on again. I've given up trying to make the servo thingy work

Mine has never stayed blinking though - just on or off (though I guess blinking is just on or off too, but you know what I mean!

Maybe the blinking is a 09 thing.. I guess I could live with it.. 2 brothers comes out with a block that bolts onto the servo to trick it.. may have to go down that lane.

That's the block that I have, Salty - from 2 Brothers. It worked for a while, then stopped working, and each time I adjusted it, it worked for less and less time.
But if it works for you - cool! I just wish it worked (permanently) for mine.

there is a servo eliminator so that you can get rid of the servo and trick the bike into thinking there is one there....it's about $100 and i forget exactly what it was called....it's somewhere on this forrum we had the same discussion.

Problem solved. One of the wires was jammed - so once the wires were removed from the servo the error went away. Apparently with the FI light illuminated the bikes leans up - so maybe a good idea to fix that Cath

The ECU gets confused about the fuel mixtures and will lean up the air/fuel ratio (letting more air into the mix) which can do bad things over time.. but then again.. maybe not???

Who told ya that? Its complete BS, no fuel management is effected with the FI light on from the servo anyway, if u have a error code or u actually get a fuel injection problem it might go into limp mode but still wise to fix it as you won't know either way if u do get a problem or if its just the servo keeping it on.
