I currently have a 2002 zx6. Wife will be off her restrictions shortly so she will get the 02 as a runaround to get used to a bigger bike before we lash out on a much newer bike for her (she wants a black 2007 zx6)
Now we've looked at the '05 zx6 & an '07. The '07 is much smaller than the '02 (& the '05) Will suit the wife very well - she can stand over the frame without resorting to tippy-toes!
My question is as follows: which one is bigger? (ie taller) the '02, the '05 or the '06?? (i think 05/'06 is basically the same thing frame wise - feel free to correct me if i am wrong)
fyi i am 6'3" & wife is 5'6". (yes i have lowering links for my '02 now to suit those of "diminished height")

Thanks

As standard, i thought the 03/04 was the tallest, 05/06 slightly lower with the 02 being the lowest. (i've owned all 3 models)
In saying that, Colette lowered her 06 model and she's about 5'6"...

So you are saying that the '02 is lower than the '06??
Out of interest, what's the seat height difference between an '05-'06 & an '07?? anyone?

IMO Colette's waaaaaaay shorter than 5'6"

.
I'm 165cm and I am tall compared to her. You must be really tall Dave (just re-read and you're 6'3"

) and you don't have to worry about every centimetre
She did have her 6R lowered a hell of a lot (50mm I seem to recall) and she has trouble with speed humps now

.
As for the ZX-6R seat heights, I found this on the US Kawasaki Site:
2002 820mm
2005 820mm
2006 820mm
2007 820mm
2008 820mm
...of course it all depends on leg length and the shape of the seat as to whether the short-legged can cope

hmmm... interesting!!
i find it interesting that my wife fitted over a stock 2007 bike easily, yet would have major issues riding the 2002, with both supposedly having the same seat height! i doubt the seat width would vary that much!
think i need to find a 2005/6 for sale somewhere & have a look at it!

It is not just height.... but seat width also makes a massive difference... the newer bikes are very narrow at the front of the seat compared to the older bikes....

the seat WIDTH also plays a part.. a wider seat uses more of ur leg to go around it... if that makes sense??
sumtimes u need to have the seat re-shaped too...
