Hey all, had a little prob with my 6 for a while. Had this weird creaking sound under brakes and when going over bumps. Took it to my mech. and found out it was a loose engine mount bolt on the left, and the nut had almost come all the way off the stud on the right!!!
Anyway, tightened up the left bolt, pulled RHS fairing off and tried to tighten the nut, but the bastard wouldnt tighten up. Anyway took the nut off and found the thread to be completly f*$ked!!! Searched high and low and found a nut that the guy at the bolt store assures me is the right size. Its a M10x1.25 i think? I know its a fine thread anyway, because i had to go to a special shop to get one. Can anyone confirm this? Also when i came back and tried to put it on, i had NO luck. Just wouldnt go on. Now either the thread on the end of the stud is also stuffed(likley) or its a left hand thread. I can really tell as i dont have a good light and cant see in there.
Im going to pull it out and check it, but if someone knows its the wrong size nut, or im just a retard and its a LH thread, then please let me know and save me some trouble! Cheers!

Ok just in case anyone was interested, i got the bolt out today. It wasnt a stud like i was thinking. I couldnt figure out why i couldnt get the bloody nut to got on, it just wouldnt get take the thread when i was trying to do it up when in place. Stupid me, there is a little slot kinda thing that the nut fits in so it doesnt spin. I was trying to do it up with the nut past that, so of course when it did get on the thread it was just pushed straight back off. Kinda hard to visualise unless you see it, but it was a learning experience!

first off Metric fine in 10mm is 1.25 pitch.
and when you think about it there is no reason to use a LHT on an engine mount bolt .
They normaly use LHT on spinning parts that may undo because of the spinning direction.
Anyway its good to see that you fixed the problem

Yeah it was an M10x1.25. I dont know why i thought it was left hand, probably cause i was having so much trouble trying to get it on. Which as it turns out, was just me stupidly not examining the situation correctly, and jumping to the wrong conclusion. No matter now, its fixed! Feels great to be out riding again
