Dainese Avro 2 Pce

Thu Nov 07, 2013 8:13 am

......and while I'm on my new gear review I also lashed out on some new leathers. After doing some research I thought I'd try out the Dainese Avro 2 Pce suit. I've never owned a set of Dainese leathers before so thought I'd give them a lash.

The Avro is kind of their bottom level 2 pce suit and is really only designed for non Winter riding (which is what I wanted).

After having lived with them for a couple of months I have to say they are without doubt the best fitting , most comfortable set of leathers I've owned (and these are my 7th set of leathers). Quality is excellent as you'd expect from Dainese and the placement of knee, elbow, shin and arm protection is really good (no digging in etc). Once you've got them on they are extraordinarily comfortable. Knee sliders are placed really well (have been tested and passed :) ).

Downsides are that there is only 1 pocket so carrying a wallet and a phone doesn't really work and as I mentioned they're not really designed for Winter (that doesn't bother me though as I wrap the old bones in a Dririder jacket and Collins Leather pants for winter)

At $1099 they're not cheap but you get what you pay for in terms of quality and I rate these well ahead of anything else I've worn for the road.

You'll also find that they will last for many years as well. :D When you amortise the cost over the time they last they are actually quite good value.

They look the same as Shaun's ones, he is quite happy with his too.
