Helmet Safety Standards - Australia

Howdy,
Since moving here earlier this year I have noticed that all the helmets in Oz have a silver standards sticker on them.
I brought an Arai RX-7 Corsair GP with me that has the British ACU stamp on it. This is the standard needed for racing in the UK and Ireland.
Is it legal to use this on the roads and more importantly, can it be used for track days?!
Dont fancy shelling out another $1100 for a replacement Arai!
Cheers
Johhny.

Definately not legal on the roads unfortunately. As for trackdays or racing I doubt it but Im sure a more qualified opinion will pop up soon! Yes its ridiculous

Not more qualified but nope on the roads and probably nope on the track, depends on the scrutenier but take a approved one just in case or buy a helmet.I bought a shoei x12 helmet from shoei .com for $850 recently which is a australian site.Pretty good value since most people wanted $1200.00

I believe its illegal to use it on the road, but is OK to use at race meetings (most race meeting state FIM helmet regs which approves most international standards).
Eastern Creek ride days state helmets must meet Australian Standards, but I've never had one checked.

Jeez...... that is some load of S%ite!!!!
Tis good enough for the lads riding flat chat around the IOM TT circuit but not good enought to tip to the shops in Sydney!
Wife wont be too pleased, something else to spend some cash on!!!

Does it have a snell sticker? Or label it could be inside stitched into it cause that it is recognized everywhere and will be fine to use racing or track

No Snell sticker but just found this webpage from Motorcycling Australia!
http://www.ma.org.au/fileadmin/user_upl ... elmets.pdfMy Arai is Marked ECE22-05 - E04 (Netherlands) so should be no problem using it out in the creek........ Using it on the road is another matter

Yes, I have 2 helmets I bought from the UK and they never had a problem with any of them.
