So im up for some appropriate footwear for my commute and twisty fun rides, have been looking at Rjays because of there affordability.

With 2 in mind, first

Or

Second being waterproof ( do they get hot ), any feedback on either would be appreciated, or am i going down the wrong road with Rjays?

Go with what is the best fit. Forget what brand they are, thats for snobs. You will be wearing them a lot so comfort is preimum.
I have an old pair of late 80s model Rossi's & wouldnt use anything else, comfort plus.
Ok they dont have toe sliders & protection isnt the best, but hey Im not racing in them so what the heck.
PS: I do like the look of the ones in the second pic. If I do retire the Rossi's I would give those boot the once over.

I got a pair of sidi vertigo rain boots from netherlands, $350 delivered. They have seen some bad rain as I use them for my daily commute and did a track day in them on a warm day. They are comfortable and water proof so I'm very happy with them.

Can't say much about those boots as I've never worn them.

I've got a pair of RJays "Tour Am", which are very similar, but without the plastic doodads. I only got them about 8 weeks ago, but to date I found them comfortable and not too hot and the quality looks pretty good for the price. Longest stretch I've had them on is about 3.5 hrs. When I bought mine, the model you were looking at was about $245 at the Bayswater AMX outlet.

Personally I would suggest trying to stretch the budget a bit further if you can ....... you will probably find that some of the slightly more expensive ones fit better & offer more protection.
There are a heap of members with SIDI boots & the quality & fit is just so good for that price range.... go to a place with the biggest range of boots & try em all on... Oh & dont expect them to stretch much, make sure you have a bit of room or you will end up with sore feet should you have to walk around in them for long periods, I have had so many sales people say yeah they will stretch..... BS.... it takes a few years of use before that happens

I recently bought a pair of Dainese torque-out(waterproof) boots, and love them! They broke in very quickly, and are soooooo comfortable Picked them up from a US supplier through ebay for $303 AUD delivered express post international

I bought a pair of rear entry Gaerne GX-S rear entry boots this last summer and love them. The only reason I choose them however is because of the fit. They also squeak when I walk, but they were made to ride in not walk. Of course I hear squeaks when I walk anyway so maybe it's not the boots????

I have a pair for winter and a pair for summer. I have a five year old pair of Alpine star SMX's which have done god knows how many kilometres, but over 90,000 and they are still working perfectly. I also have a pair of Alpine star Goretex boots which are the same in terms of comfort and life (3 years and 40,000k's) but I don't wear them in Summer as your feet roast. In hot weather, I couldn't give a shit if my feet get wet!

Nothing has gone wrong with these boots and as I have short but broad feet, they were the only boot i could fit into properly when I bought them.

As good as they are they are still 5 and 3 years old and are now up for replacement ......possibly next month. So I will see what the market place has in store for my feet then.

I just finished wearing out a pair of alpinestars.... I thought they were cool with the toe slides, but I got sick of them so I took them off... I had a pair of gearne boots before that... I would get them again if I could find them... The closest thing they have now is these

Yes, I know they arent racing boots.... But one of my criteria is that I must be able to chuck on a pair of jeans and a teashirt and not look like a tryhard cock... (any more than I would normally do anyway)

Which is why i bought the Dainese torque outs..They are a very casual looking boot, but still offer great protection in the event of a crash.. Plus they can be worn on the inside or outside of pants with a quick adjustment of the velcro at the back of the boot
