Get into your local shops and try on all the different brands.............
You might work out that the brand you thought you wanted, doesn't fit as good as others you hadn't even thought of....
Once you narrow it down to a couple of brands, then search further-a-field for them at the right price.........

I love my Collins leathers, and for about $750 for a 2 piece set I think they're great value.

+1 ... Dave - and the after-sales service is tops ! I had an issue with mine ..... sent them back - fixed - sent back within the week, and postage re-imbursed.

Had three offs in my Alpinestars. Still holding together well. I'd have plenty of confidence in them if I went for another slide.

I had one off in my Joe Rocket leathers and they fell apart so I would stay away from them.

I imported some alpine stars apex track pants and smx5 boots from the US for about $620AUD, delivered. Saved about $400.00 odd.

Takes about 3 weeks to get here, through customs and australia post.

They probably do other brands as well...

Lemme know if you're interested and i'll dig up the details of the place. :)

As was stated, try on different brands as all have a different fit for different body types. You can then look on ebay, forums and others (the formula extreme website seems to have a few) or go directly overseas. I just bought a pair of Spyke leathers for about a 1/3 of the local price and the fit (for me) is great, may need a slight adjustment (as most of my clothes do) and they allow me greater movement than my old suit, check out this topic http://www.ksrc-au.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=30439

I've got two sets of Collins (1 piece and a 2 piece) and I love them. I've had Teknics and they were really good also. My first set were an old set of R jays and they were OK but never really fit that well. Someone on here is still running around in them though, although I'm not sure who as they've been handed on at least once since I had them

Having said that the Spyke jobbies that Bishboy above got look like sensational value.

All leathers are different fits though so make sure you try some on. Whatever you do don't get white ones like Russ, they just look gay....... :)
