A question for the ladies???

A question for the girls.........
Just doing a little bit of research for the stargirlz range. Whilst I know what I am looking for, I would really be interested in hearing what other girls think about motorcycle gear.
How do you feel when you go into a store to purchase motorcycle gear?
What do you look for in gear?
What do you think of the fitting and shape of the current female range?
What features would you like to see in ladies gear?
Any other ideas or suggestions are gratefully accepted.
Thanks in advance

I was looking for a winter jacket and NEED boobie room. I had to go up sizes and hated the fit or go down size and squash them

The bigger sizes are OK cept that the sleeves r to long

I'm with Lainie, I have a fair to middling rack and I -hate- having it squished into a jacket that otherwise fits just dandy. I've had oversize jackets taken in at the waist for this reason - an additional expense on already expensive gear. Most women's gear seems to be designed for tubby, stumpy-limbed, flat chested barrels, not real people... and pink... that's guff...
Hope that helps. J.

oh and while I think of it, things I would like to see in women's motorcycling gear is 2-piece suits with extra patches of that breathable, stretchy kevlar stuff under boobs (not just under arms) and across front of hips (not just crotch) so we can twist and move more freely on the bike and sweat less. Lower cut backs of necks of jackets so our ponytails/pigtails/dreadlocks don't jam in between jacket and lid, restricting movement and visibility. Longer cut backs of jackets so we don't get that strip of sunburn on our lower backs. Smooth finish kevlar lining on draggin jeans so we don't get mad wriggly line patterns on our arses if we wear a g-string. And finally, boots with a bit of a heel, I hate walking in superflats and even though I'm taller than the average lass, most women I think would appreciate a bit more leg length for more stable footing and confidence at lights etc.
OK I think I'm done. Cheers J.

If I had to buy anything motorcycle related (even accessories) my husband would be there so he tends to do all the talking (mostly because he's far more experienced with the motorcycle world than I am). Walking around the shops and checking out jackets and things, sometimes I find the ladies armour isn't as hard as the mens. I agree with the boots comment from previous post.

+1 to everything already said. Most of my gear has had to be altered- even leathers. Girls aren't shaped like guys, so a lot of the gear is uncomfortable. As the girls said- bigger in the places that count would be nice.
We need smaller sizes too! Finding small sizes in bike gear is like pulling teeth- I have had to order in most of my gear.
By the way- PLEASE make our gear without flowers and little glittery pink bits too- we are bikers after all
Hope this helps.....

..
Seconded!!!
It's so hard to find girls gear without silly flowers or pastelly colors or pink ..
and also with the tops, like everyone has said, they really need to allow for boobs. Admittedly more and more do, but I tried on a RST leather jacket the other day, and I could barely do it up.. I told the rep and he just shrugged

You can't be serious ?

. . . we obviously don't shop in the same places, cause I haven't seen much gear with flowers and 'pink bits' (altho admittedly it's been a while since I've shopped for new gear).
Yes I agree, well sort of - I mean you can still be a serious biker and where some
COLOUR imo!

It is after all bout being 'seen' so the brighter the better!
I'm with you bout the flowers, but hey whats wrong with some 'pink bits' ? ?

It must be a QLD thing Rob. Most of the gear I have bought had to have flowers removed from it! Maybe you need some retail therapy in the Sunshine State- loads of gear with colour up here!

(I'm a black kinda girl myself.....)
