Scooters and skirts

Postby Aussie Ninja » Tue Feb 06, 2007 6:09 pm

Just wondering if anyone else thinks it's really dumb to not wear any gear just because it's only a scooter? I'm pretty sure binning one at 60 hurts just as much as any other bike. Every scooter I see the rider has no gear on what so ever. I've even seen women on their way to work in their skirt and heels. Idiocy! Rant over.

It's quite possible to come off a scooter, I've done it and can say that the road is just as hard however you get there.

...inside a paradigm!

I see dozens of girls travelling to work in the city with 3/4 pants, short-sleeved blouses, and in the case of one asian lady, her open-face helmet on upside down . Then again, I also see guys wearing suits and work shoes on scooters, so it's not all a girl thing .

I saw a guy on a white R1 this morning wearing work trousers, short sleeved work shirt and work shoes, so I suppose it's not just scooters either.

Pretty stupid really, I'd like their insurance payout for roadrash adjusted downwards in relation to how little they wear...or their insurance premiums raised accordingly. Then mine might drop slightly .

I probably can't comment really as I always wear jeans or work pants riding, do wear gloves, boots and jacket though...

As an aside, htf can you wear a helmet upside down, surely you gotta realise that it just doesn't feel quite right somehow???
