Leather Pants...

Postby icebreaker » Fri Oct 01, 2004 1:20 pm

Ok, So our track day is isn't far away..

I need to get some pants organised..

I was looking at getting Alpinestars to match my Jacket, but
open to other ideas providing the quality is good, and they look ok, as I quite like the look of the AS ones. Also I'm a reasonably large fit.

Have people had any experiences with local companies???

I've had a look at the Underdog site. $385 for a pair.. No idea if they will do them any cheaper, but I also have no idea what they're stuff is like..

Looking for idea's people..

Thanks

Ive seen the Underdog leathers and they seem pretty damn good. You can get them custom fitted to you by going to the local representative. I have only seen the 2 piece race suit but it looked good quality to me. Their logo looks gay though so that would be the first thing I took off if I got a pair :D

Try http://www.tigerangel.com, their stuff is pricey but they also offer custom fitting and colours but then again Alpine Stars isn't cheap stuff. Tiger Angel is fully Aussie so you know it's good quality!

Try 'leather master' the same guy you got your bulk buy gloves from on eBay. A little while ago I saw him listing custom pants for around $300 and full suits for about $600. He seems to be able to import anything real cheap and alter it to suit you.

Heard nothing but good things about Tiger Angel...

Being in Melbourne you would be able to get them to measure you up and check it for fit.

I've got a tiger angel jacket, about 2 years old and i love it, looks as good now as when i got it, though it hasn't been crash tested :)
the little bit you hold on the zip on one of the arms broke and i went in and they fixed it on the spot, were gonna give me a lend jacket if i'd had to leave it there too so service is top notch.
bit pricey but ya get what you pay for.
only problem is if you get it custom fitted at all it'll probably take upwards of a month to make, though they do have some standard sizes on the floor.

I've got AGV leathers and the quality seems fine to me, they are well made, comfortable..

Not much for a pair of pants around the mid to high 3XX's

They're pretty much plain as well, so you wouldnt have to worry about the mix and match look

If you can get pants that zip together with your jacket, you should be sweet.
The whole idea behind zipping your pants and jacket together is so in the event of a slide down the road, your jacket doesnt end up around your shoulders.

I'm with you on that Quarky... I've seen a few pairs myself, and they look pretty good, except for that logo.

As for me, I'm happy with my Rjays and Beemer leathers.

hmm my cheap ass gear from the local bike dealer (bikers club- made by yamaha i believe??) works a treat..i crashed in em 3 times in full suit, once in just jacket, and ive never had an injury...
remeber that lil "flip the bike doin a wheelie in 3rd gear at 160kph" incident?? tore my jeans apart..tore my knees apart...tore my jacket apart eventually...but NO damage to my upper body..damn for cheap ass leather, i love it lots...
