Don't they squeak something chronic. Great boots that are very comfortable only issue I had after a little off and roll down the road at Oran was that the toe sliders came loose on a long run and I didn't realise until they were gone on one of the boots. Great fit with either my leathers on my draggin jeans. Good adjustment on the rear. Mine did require a ride in period, I got a blister on the first use which was a stinking hot day at the track. Since then 600+ klm in a day no issues.

Definitely spend the extra cash if you can. My original boots (I threw them out so can't remember the name) didn't last 5 years of weekend hacking, they weren't water proof and were a cheaper brand. They did survive being trapped under an FZ1 whilst sliding down the road at 80klms an hour without a mark or a bruise on my leg so from that point I think you won't go wrong with a cheaper boot in Rjays.

Ive got Alpinestars SuperTech R in black, and they are not water proof at all, but they are uber comfy and for a cool $600 who can go wrong!
