Leather Modifications.

Postby Duane » Fri Aug 18, 2006 2:29 pm

G'day peoples.

Is there anyone in melb metro area that will modify leathers? (no i havent lost or gained weight). I want to put knee sliders on my leather pants to save buying new ones. Was wondering if anyone else had done this and roughly how much it coste thou

Any guidance/info will be appreciated.

PS. Mario, where do you get those knee pillows (instead of the sliders) for when Stace and Greg come to visit???

Mars Leathers will do it, On Eliz St. Quota to add CE armour was $80 for pants and $90 Jacket. I think an extra $100 tp fit sliders. They did a zip repair for me recently, was a great job.

$100, hope that is including the sliders.
They are only stitching velcro on after all.
Ummm your leathers do have armour I take it?
Just because you CAN ride, doesn't mean you SHOULD

I think there is some amount of reinforcing the knee so that it can take the extra forces excerted in getting your knee down. Not just about adding velcro, but making sure the whole knee area stays intact whilst in use.

Yeah my leathers are AGV Sports with armour in the shoulders, elbow, (softie in the back) and knee's

Will need to buy a proper back protector, but, rather save $$ modding a set of leathers that have already been down the road rather than buying a frog suit
