Shark RSF3

Been using a Shark RSF3 for a while now; it's light (important after a cervical spinal op), comfortable and I like the look (Smoke), and it's quiet... except it squeals and screams above 80kph. Really loudly! Opening or closing the vents doesn't seem to help at all. The adjustment seems minimal. Has anyone else had problems with this?

Yes. But only with the clear visor and if the wind is blowing in a certain direction! If I turn my head slightly to one side it stops. Sure that's of great help to you

its a visor problem.
I've got a rsr2 and can't work out how to adjust it either.
In the past there was stuff on the shark web site but its disappeared.

Yep; clearly visor (it'll go away if I cover just the bottom of the visor, not the vent) but I don't want to ducting tape the visor shut! It seems that there's insufficient adjustment fore-and-aft, so the bottom of the visor sits slightly proud of the rubber seal and forms a whistle.

Oh dear. My first thought was "No, the Sprint's fuel injected". I think I need a few days away from work, on the bike, to sort this out

Wear ear plugs i can't ride with out them....

So if I haven't heard from the distributors after 2 weeks, can I assume they don't give a f**k? They've got the money, so screw you?

6 weeks later I assume they don't give a f**k. No more Shark helmets for me. Sent another email to the distributor, assuming I'll get the same quality of customer service as before. Anyone had experience with Shoei?

Mate i have a shark RSF and well i have the same problem i like the look and feel of them but have to wear ear plugs with it when going any long distance and always think to my self hmmmmm hope im the only one that can hear the noise........ but the other side of the coin if i am the only one that can hear it .......... wots next voices lol

Just received an email from Ficeda (Shark's distributors), from a bloke called David (must be a good guy). Apparently the silence from them was due to a glitch in their email system. He's asked a whole heap of questions regarding helmet and visor, and I will keep you all posted on the outcome. There's hope for the banshees in my helmet yet!

Edit: Just received another email. It may be the visor, and he's sending a newer style out for me to try.

And today the new visor arrived at Bikemart! New mounting system seems to be more rigid, and the visor sits flush to the seal. I'll see how the sound is tomorrow.

Friday update: fits much more tightly, and seems to be quieter up to 60. Will let you know how it goes over 80kph.

Sunday update: much better, but still a little whistley. This is now a really good helmet. Happy smiles . Next week I'll try my new fitted ear plugs. It makes me feel like a bit of an idiot to say this after my earlier rant, but... the Shark RSF3 is a good, quiet helmet. Sorry for ever doubting you, Ficeda.

And finally: 100kph +; all is good. Surprisingly quiet; very flush fit = no progrip anti-fog insert. Using Bauer anti-fog liquid, which works really well.

Shark helmets are awesome! I've got 2 of them, the RSI and RSX they are both terrific!
