nothing but compliments all round from the boys that I know that have them. When I am in the market for a new suit i think I will be going Collins.

As Rus said, I love mine and will happily buy another set. I've had a 100km/h lowside at EC in mine and they held up very well. As for buying without trying them on - they post them to you and if they're not right you send them back (free of charge) and they'll send you the next size. Highly recommended.

Hey Dave, did they ask for various measurements before processing? They don't alter? Just get the nearest standard size?

I have been interested in a set since I saw Glens at the Creek, heard nothing but good reviews for them.

Around the 7-800 mark if I remember right

Cheers,

Damo

I bought mine in a shop so I just tried them on, but I've heard from a few people who bought them sight-unseen including Glen. I think he asks what Levi's you wear and recommends a size from there - they're not custom altered, they're only "off the shelf" sizes.

Yeah They are really good. You ring them they tell you what measurements to take and you give them that and your Levi's size and they post you the right size. If something doesn't fit you post them back at their expense and they ship you some new ones. Mine were spot on first time and are excellent quality, triple stitching on the impact bits etc. When I'm due for another set I'll get them again for sure.

Colour range is a bit limited but it ain't a fashion show, although Dave#3 and I do look quite fetching when we stand next to each other in our matching suits..... :)

I always thought you guys were a little.....err....close!!!!

As for the leathers from Collins. Dave from Collins leathers is a very good guy, who really gives a shit about both his products and his customers. Ask him how the suits are put together and it will be all triple and double stitched. The armour will all be CE approved as well. Just think about it, in real terms....if they can post a suit to Glen and make it fit right, they can pretty much do it for anyone!!!!!!!!! :kuda:

Wonder if they can fit a fuller figured man   ....

I tried at lot of different brands last year and found most were suited to the thinner build amoungst us, including Collins, Dainese and Alpinestars..... I had to go up one or two sizes to get my gut in, which then meant they were designed for someone 5'10'' - 6'0" (180-183cm) plus... It's ok to have a belly as long as you are tall also.........

I'm only 5'6'' (168cm), so I ended up getting a size 46 Joe Rocket GPS suit, not the best available, but it does the job and it fits good $600.

If you don't mind spending the cash (approx) $2,000 you can get quality made to measure leathers in your choice of design and colours etc....from Doug at DBT Hume Highway Yagoona (east end of shopping centre up from Cooper Rd)

EDIT: No website, found his ph: (02) 9790 1235 and it's 444 Hume Hwy.....

I bought a pair of pants(rs4) last year and they fit awesome and leather feels good compared to some cheaper crap I had bought in the past
I am going to buy a matching jacket from them soon!

I bought a set of collins 1 piece leathers last year and have two offs (one low side at 160kmh) and they held up as well as could be expected, although it did wear through one of the layers on my ass  .
As I'm 6'4" and only 85kg, the fit is as well as I could expect (size 48) from any suit and my back protector fits well. The only problem I've had had been a zip, but at only $700 I think they are good value, spending more money would get something with a more tailered fit and maybe some more bling factor but maybe not much more protection.
