Jackets for Fatties

Postby MrsWasabi » Mon Oct 27, 2008 10:42 am

Hey...

As you may or may not know MrWasabi & I are in the market for a little bike for myself. We went looking at motorbike gear e.g. Jackets, helmets etc and had a little problem in the jacket dept.

Thanks to my pudge aka my stomach a lot of the jackets that would fit around my pudge were too big around my shoulders and arms.

Does anyone know where or brand I maybe able to have some luck with in regards to actually fitting??? Has anyone else had any similar problems??? I don't want to go out and pay for a custom made jacket as I am currently losing weight. Already 1 kilo in1 week - woohoo... Just something that can get me on the bike in the mean time.

Umm...

I would have a crack at some of the textile/dryrider type jackets with the adjustable waist bits... Textile jackets are usually more adjustable than leather jackets.

MCAS @ Auburn have a big range and you could just try them on til you find one that fits; then get one of our sponsors to order it in for you. ;)

Dave3 or Glen are the best persons to ask about them

Pm me your size and I'll give you some suggestions (not measurements - just size)

Steer clear of the boys ones.. if they fit around the waste they won't fit any where else

Was that a deliberate typo, Tanya ? ;)
I've spent over 40 years of my life riding bikes .... the rest of it, I wasted ..

have a look at these guys

http://www.tigerangel.com.au

there has been a few posts about them, but i haven't heard a bad word from anyone. they might cost a bit more, but you can guarantee a proper fit.

nope

There are lots of girs jackets out there that do cater for girls who have hips and boobs, I know, I used to try on every girl jacket that came into the shop to see what body type they suited :)

I can guarantee there will be something available that fits without having to go the custom route :)

Think you'll find they cost a LOT more, not a bit :) It is very good gear though...

My ladies leather superior jacket is made to fit nearly all ladies body shapes. The shoulders are ladies shoulders, not body builder style. The waist is elastic so it can give or taper. The hips on this jacket are zippered with leather velcro belts to give that perfect fit. 8 to 14 instock. 6 to 20 will be available around 1/12/2008

The leather is very soft and supple cowhide. (not stiff uncomfortable buffalo). Every local lady that has come over to try it on fits in it very well.

I used to be quite rotund - I found the best fit was Ixon - I have one of the Nirvana jackets. Not too sure what sizes are being imported to Australia (when I got mine the biggest size was 10 / AU 18) but if you can order it from OS there are several larger sizes available.
