Storm Leathers - Feedback

Postby Shifty » Wed Jul 16, 2008 4:10 pm

Hey guys

Late last week I was time-wasting on ebay and spotted a pair of leather pants for sale by a business. Riding gear isn't normally something I'd buy on the cheap but I had a weak moment and emailed the guy about them (I don't have an ebay account or credit card).

Prompt & friendly response to my enquiry so I bit the bullet thinking they couldn't be too bad for a price of around $200 delivered. I put the money in on Friday, it cleared into their account on Monday, and the pants arrived yesterday (Tuesday).

They were packed appropriately and fit perfectly, are well padded & armoured, appear well made & sturdy and even for nay-sayers who will only buy top-dollar products they're still a thousand times better than draggins that I normally get about in.

Interesting that they come at a time when my $300 alpinestars gloves have failed for the second time (first time came unstitched along one finger, after only a few days... and last week the leather on one finger wore completely through). I've had the gloves for three years but they're one of three pairs that I wear interchangeably depending on mood/weather...

Thumbs up:

As I said elsewhere, I've had mine for almost 18 months with no real complaints. Comfy and haven't shown any signs of seams giving out.

Only (small) hassle has been the thigh armour, which moves around in its pocket, necessitating straightening before putting the pants on next time.

As an excuse to try them out I took the 12R over to Mum's last night... very comfy...and a shiteload warmer 'n jeans!

GF couldn't stop laughing at me sitting on the leather couch in my leather pants and becoming 'as one' with it hehe.

One thing I do need to do is sew a zip into my Alpinestars jacket to suit - probably my only complaint is that the pants were provided without the other half of the zip, although I don't imagine it will be too ahrd to find one that matches. If not maybe I'll buy a new jacket too :P

Give him a call. He gave me a complete extra zip.
