WTB yoshi replacement parts

Postby bnag » Thu Mar 07, 2013 7:46 pm

Hey guys,

New to the forums. Not sure what section this belongs to since it's related to my exhaust however the problem is purely cosmetic so thought I'd put it in bodyworks & bling lol

So today I got into a bit of a prang. Old woman driving a fourby wasn't looking and nearly took me out while changing lanes. I got away with some of her paint on my shoe and a bit of a crack in my carbon fibre muffler. The damage is mostly on the sleeve and the muffler clamp that mounts the muffler to the passenger foot peg.

The muffler clamp I'm not so worried about but does anyone know where I can get a replacement CF sleeve for an yoshimura R77 muffler? If not, anybody here that can do some good repair jobs on carbon fibre parts? It's a pretty deep crack and don't think it will be as simple as sand and fill.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Bang

Edit: I live in Brisbane southside. Haven't been able to find any places online that let me order directly.

This would great if i'd gotten her number plate :( Stupid me not checking the full extent of the damage before I rode off. Rubbed most of the paint off while I was there so thought nothing of it til I got home and noticed a crack in my sleeve.

Bike gear warehouse used to sell sleeves.
But they are gone now.

Bikebiz might be able to help you.

Alternatively try getting one out of the US. Morepowerracing.com might be able to help if they ship to Aus.

Jcmotors is good also but I dont think they do Yoshi.

Good luck

Thanks Glen. Shot off a few emails and waiting for replies. Also found out a lot of exhaust shops here don't do carbon fibre lol

I got my bolt-on RS3 Yoshi can for the barge, from JC Motors - not sure if they do spare parts or not ?

Cool. So Bikebiz does spare yoshi parts but there was a bit of confusion bout sizes. Obviously different bikes require different size mufflers and I found this info on the yoshi website: http://www.yoshimura-rd.com/t-replaceme ... r_R77.aspx

Problem is, when I measure my sleeve, it comes up 11 inches.. which doesn't match any of the replacement sleeves available. Does anyone know where the 'Length measurement' is taken from? Or is my muffler simply retarded?

Also considering ordering a sleeve larger size and cutting/drilling to fit but that's a last resort.
