i was floating around on youtube today and came across this LED conversion that i thought looked pretty shit hot!
its all in german but i happened to track down the website that this guy went through to get the kit or build it im not sure http://www.digitaler-drehzahlmesser.de/
if anyone is interested, and wants to take on the challenge in translating the site, i wish you luck
There's also Google Translator, which seems to be a very capable system from what i've noticed. There's also the facility for you to submit more accurate translations if you find a problem to help them finesse it a bit.
Hey guys, Not sure if you looked into this or not but i did it to the ZRX. Eagle Eye make replacement wedge base globes in led. They just slot into the standard spots. Looks pretty good too.
The biggest thing is making sure that they have a wide enough angle on the lens to make sure there aren't any spots left unilluminated on the dash, a lot of LED's have a pretty narrow angle that the light is at its strongest, and given the fact that the dash is so close to the lights, this is certainly a distinct possibility if you d.i.y. it and make a poor choice..

i might have to get onto eagle eye and see what they have how bright are your LED's?

i bought some blue LED's a while ago and found i have that exact problem, it only illuminates sections of the dash and not the whole thing, i also found the ones i have are quite dull, its very hard to see the bugger!
I just found out what LED's where standard found coloured replacements locally (can't find the link from where i got them) removed the old ones , re soldered in the new... SMT surface mount LED
If its a newer bike then it's LED's as indicated. I imagine the OP was talking about doing a globe -> LED conversion for a dash that used to use 4 or more 2 watt mini globes.
that looks pretty cool much better than the amber standard stuff. a detailed how to would be good. is there a chance of stuffing the gauge panel?? cloud 9
