Sticker Removal

The original stickers on my bike seem to be covered in a clear coat.

Is there anyway to remove them that doesn't result in a respray?

There is too much on the bike in my opinion and I wanted to simplify it a little.

Colour fade on the surrounding paintwork is 1 reason

When I get a new bike, First thing I do is get out the hair dryer and take off all the stickers that I want to remove. Simply a matter of heating the sticker and carefully peeling them off.

Eucalyptus oil? It worked on my rear cowl sticker beautifully.

I was going to try that but i was worried it might not work as i think there is a clear coat over the stickers.

I might give it a try on the bottom of the fairings where it cant be seen

I'm pretty sure that clear coated stickers won't come off easy - that's why they clear coat the ones on the tank (to stop petrol splashes taking them off). The uncoated ones come off with a hair dryer. Or you can drop the bike on a gravel road - worked for me!

Michael .....A clear coated sticker will come off but you will stuff your paint job in the process so I would not bother + If resale is an issue then leave it in standard trim as it will be worth more if the bike's paint job is original.

I think if i was going to go to this extreme i would cough up for a paint job instead.

I am thinking about resale value as well so I might just leave it alone.

+ they are definately clear coated after some closer examination.
