Custom Helmet Graphics

Hey peeps,

Originally, when i bought my black shoei with tinted visor, i thought it was horn. (little influence from the ghostrider clips as well ). Now, im a bored of the plain look, plus theres so many black helmets out there. My helmet's 6mths old and has a bit of life left in it, so i thought about getting some custom graphics/text on the helmet.

Anyone done a custom paint job on their helmet? More importantly, where (im from melb) can i get it done and how much, roughly, would it cost?

Lastly, if you've got pics of your custom helmet paint job, show us some pics.

ok... lets see if I can help you out a bit.

Cost.... can and will vary.. depending on a) how much prep work has to be done to your helmet.. b) the amount and detail of work you want done... c) the type of paints you want ie: metallic, glow in the dark, candy's and flake etc. Most importantly cost will vary on the experience, ability and professionalism of the artist.
The cost usually starts at around $600... I've seen 1 job that cost $1600 on 1 helmet.. but it involved a lot of detail, multiple colours and was all metallic paint with lots of flake.

Artist... google and ye shall find.. Their are plenty of artists in melbourne, including one of Australia's best, Daniel Power @ Powerlord Graphics.

There's a couple of places Campbellfield ( Hume Hway) but I hope you have deep pockets
There's a shite load of work in spraying a lid properly

You got me thinking... so I've dug around in my pile of air brushing mags to find some artists in Vic... I found some copies of Aussie AirBrush Art... these are about 8 or 9 yrs old, from when I first got involved with airbrushing, so I am not sure if all the guys are still around.. how ever seeing their work I would think they would be.

Mat Egan, was around the Abbotsford area Vic.

and arguably the best helmet airbrush artist in Aus... Luke Hibberd, company: LA designs. Lara Vic. He used to paint Garth Tander's helmet. http://www.ladesigns.com.au/

As I said earlier...the btter the artist the more you'll pay. Luke has prices on his website... You'll need lots of $$$$$ for him, but his work is amazing.
