Handle Bar question

the problem is that where the bar end screws in to the handle bar, there's a gap between the bar end and the rubber handle and i can't seem to be able to close the gap...is it the bar end or rubber?

that gap between rubber grip and bar end allows your rubber grip which controls your
throttle to operate freely.

no, i mean it's only the left hand one......the right one is correct with minimum gapping...but the left hand bar end has about 1-2cm gap between the bar end and the rubber

sounds like its not the OEM bar end that was on the bike..

Does it look different to the right?
is it a second hand bike?

Someone probably dropped/had a stack on the left side and replaced the bar end with
one that didn't quite fit properly.

unless your riding a yamahiihaa.. because then its part of the 'design intent'

Leave it im the sun for a long time & when it is hot the adhesive should be soft enough to pull it back

If you have access to compressed air put the air gun nozzle under the edge and as it separates from the bar you can move it easily. Sounds more like the internals of the bar have moved or been pulled outwards. Try smacking the bar end weight with a hammer but put a block of wood there first so you don't damage it and see if it moves. Photo? Be easier to diagnose with a pic.

Here are a couple of photos from a brand new 2008 ZX6R. The gap looks the same as yours so I wouldn't be overly concerned about it. Try stretching the grip towards the end or just colour that gold bit black so it's not so obvious

thx much for the effort and explaination....i had to pull and twist it really hard to move it down.....now there's a gap between the grip and where the light button part is......so it looks like the right hand side.....
