Just preparing a couple of fairings at the moment, but as they are changing colour, i want to paint the back side aswell.
Can any body tell me what to use to remove the glue? I've tried accetone and thinners so far, but with little success.

Depends on the type of glue. If the Acetone and thinners don't shift it then not too sure what else to suggest. Normaly I would use Shellite / white spirit as it is far less aggressive than those other two, especialy on plastics.

I got all the (OEM) foam and glue off my ZX9R fairings - I used thinners. It worked, not real well, but better than anything else I tried. I had to let it sit and soften for a while, then used a scouring pad and soapy water. Took a little patience! As you can tell, I wasn't trying to preserve the old paint at all. :D

Thinners turns the foam into a gloopy mess which clogs up the scourer. I used a really sharp knife (my old filleting knife, actually) to cut as much foam off as I could before having a go at the glue.

i used a hairdryer and stanley blade when i removed the glue and crap off the back of alex fairings.

we also used this goop remover we got from coles.
sprayed it on let it sit for a few minutes then heat it all up and off it came. then wiped the small residue off with eucalyptus oil, good quality stuff tho..
