Not sure if it actually works but gave me great confidence riding early in the morning.

Saw two small grey kangaroos on the side of the road near Jindabyne and they seem to look at me and flee. It could be because of my other roo scarerer a.k.a. Viper racing can though

The brand is "Lion", $7 from Supercheap Auto. There's other brand as well which cost $30 a pair

I heard these thing work quite good, just make sure you keep the bugs out of the inlet It kinda stuffs them a bit

I had the electric hard wired shoo roo on my 4x4 and it worked great. Never hit anything that was still alive and could get out of the way. Not sure how that would work on a bike though....

I wacked a set on the 10 after Phil's incident. We had enough noisy pipes in the group to rival Gos's arse in the morning....actually we had that too...and those bastard roos still didn't get out of the way till too late.

I don't know if they'll help, but they can't hurt.

I've got them on the 12, & have used them on the cars for years.

I think they work OK.

Just check the packet, because they are meant to mount upright, I assume it affects the pitch of the sound.

I've got them on top of the front guard.

I have a pair of windscreen wipers on the Subaru and never hit a roo in that.

Seriously, I'm not convinced they're up to the job (the Roo-stoppers, not the Subie wipers).

What I AM convinced of is:
1. Kangaroos are really really really stupid, they make Pauline Hanson look like Einstein.
2. They have absolutely no comprehension of what a road is, nor what any type of road vehicle is, nor any idea what damage any said road vehicle will do to them.
3. Their actions under stress are entirely random and reasoning does not enter into the equation at all.
4. They have a memory span of about two minutes.
5. They travel in large groups with a collective IQ of about 30, and most of that belongs to the roo in front at the time.
6. Whistling at one and expecting a reasoning "I'd better get the fark outta here" response, when they will quite happily play Russian roulette with a motorbike/car/bus or B-Double, is a tad hopeful and a triumph of marketing.

i was carrying my "lion reppelling rock" when i hit the roo at HG..but at least i didnt hit a roo..so it works!!

i reckon shouting 'oh fuuuuuuck' would be just as effective. maybe more so.

good call Mick - I know from the run out to Silverton in 2002 on the Black Pearl, not 1 kangaroo ran into our group........and the Victorian crew, well they had issues with emu's. not roo's.......

I subscribe to the "anything is better than nothing" school. Particularly for $7 when its' $7 v a couple of grand and a week in hospital.

No, just a gut feel after dodging the buggers in Victoria and South Australia for the last 25 years.

They come down from the hills in dry weather up here and I've chased quite a few down the road, they can really scoot in a straight line. I clocked one doing over 60km/h for about a kilometre, until it realised the bush on the side of the road would be a better bet than following the centre of the road . They don't corner very well though .

I've chased a few down my and other people's driveways as well, they aren't good with fences either, it's more:

Having said that, sheep, cows and horses are just as bad .
