how big a dent is too big?

I have a small dent in the top righthand of the 7's tank it's about the size of 20 cent peice and about 5mm in depth.
Is this too big to fill or would it have to be popped out?
I'll try and get a suitable pic later.
cheers

id say the most important thing is if there are any creases on the dint or if its relatively smooth

Tape - if its very similar to the size dint i had in my tant on the 7.
Paint free dint removals wont touch you
They don't pop dints out anymore, so they have to pull it out and respray.
If it's being used as a track bike, I'd either a) leave it, or b) bog it and see what happens.
Depends how much $$$ you're puttin on a paint job, if you 're just buying a few cans of matt black paint, or going somewhere to get it done right

Duane at the moment it's going to be on the road, if it fails to come up I'll track it. Most likely the paint will be last but I was interested to know.
Cheers

Ok cool, well in that case it all depends where the dint is,
Mine was on the crease line of the tank (roughly the size of 20c peice) like from a bar end or something.
I got quoted about $500 dollar mark for it to be pulled out and repainted.
Explored the pop-it-out-with-compression. however, they dont do that anymore because they can accidently blow the seals inside the tank instead of just bashing them over the head like mike-s does with his standard exhaust.
I rang a few paintless dint removalists, they wont touch you (with bike tank dints).
Best of maybe prepping it yourself, seeing how the bog goes, and then maybe just paying someone to pull it out if the bog failed before getting it painted, would be reasonabily cheaper.

Where is "something you've done" in my post?
You are missing the point frog. I asked for info not just your pictures without a possible solution, if you want to post pictures showing off how you fixed it then well and good. I asked if the size of dent I mentioned (20 cent piece x 5mm) was too big to fill?

Mick,
if you're gonna use bog here's a tip for you
roughen the paint surface a bit with wet & dry then apply the bog straight away stretch gladwrap over the applied filler ......... it'll pull the filler into the shape of the tank and the last time I did it all I needed to do was putty over it before painting....none of the tedious sanding to get rid of the overfill
