Paint question

Sat Oct 16, 2010 9:06 pm

Hey guys,

Was cleaning the bike today and giving the wheels a good clean up and ive notcied the gloss finish/powder coating on the rims seems to be scratched. Its not deep scratches but heaps of surface marks..
What is a good way to get them out ?? If i got the normal polish onto it like Turtle wax should it help fix it up ??

Any suggestions

for scrathes you could try some polish
but some nice cut/polish will bring the up alot nicer
better to ask a automotive paint supplyer, drop in on your bike they will be bale to tell you on the spot wether its powdercoat or paint
and suggest what to do from there
my 2c :D

Kitten Cut and Polish. Discovered it as a teen and been buying it ever since.

Fine scratches can usually be dealt with using CnP, but not for all powder coats. Thus the disclaimer "Test a small amount in an inconspicuous area" ;)

A very ight cutting compound will be plenty for the puwdercoat.

I use Auto Smart products.
"Mirror Image" for bringing surfaces up from light scratches
"Cherry Glaze" for keeping the bike looking sweet. (You can polish a fully faired bike with this stuff in 15 mins) Its non abrasive and removes all road grime with ease.
