Ok i have only just got into bikes and brought my first bike, it's a 1988 GPX 250 R2 black with the red rims and red decals. I have been thinking of painting the rims black and getting rid of the red decals as well, i was thinking of putting a green Kawasaki decal on the tank a Monster energy decal on the front fairing maybe a green ninja decal as well and getting the seat done green as well, oh and also getting rid of the rear fender.........any thoughts good or bad would be good.

Not sure if it the pics or if it really is a neat looking little GPX. If it is a neat one, them my suggestion is to leave it well alone. As soon as you repaint them with anything but original colours and graphics, you destroy it's resale value. Plus, to be honest, I don;t think I have ever seen a non standard paint job that actually looked as good as the factory stuff!

Thanks for that.....that's what i wasn't to sure about and i was worried of affecting it's resale value. Although my partner is talking about getting her learners and having my GPX when i upgrade to a bigger one and i know for sure she will want to change the look and more than likely keep it for a very long time.

Thats some of the best advise you could ever get regarding a 250..... don't change a thing

Especially a GeePee that looks that good

Neat ride...I'd leave it the way it is as IMO it's a great colour scheme...but then I'm biased as my first "big" ride was a GPX750R which has a similar colour scheme.
Get some help from someone that's good with those picture thingys that can alter the colours to see what they would look like. Ist option should be green though with maybe some black.

polish the rims maybe? that'd be neat on a little 250

I say leave it stock I bought my CBR (pictured below) for $4,300 and sold it 3 month's later for $6,000

....I was toying with putting a slip-on on it but thought about what i was looking for when I bought it "An unmolested and tidy bike"I say keep it original

Thats a terrific scheme, best I've seen on a GPX. Leave it alone I say. The rims really stand out too.
