I was coming back to bendigo from melbourne on the freeway and I think my front mud flat was abit loose on my ZZR250. And When I arrived I noticed a hole

had been burnt through the mud flat about the size of the tire if it had been touching. so now my front mud flats all stuffed. Any suggestions for fixing it?? I was just going to cruise round the wreckers till found one cheap and respray it to match. And do I have to take the front wheel off t

o change that fairing/mud flap. Thanks!

Not too sure what you mean by the mud flat ? If you have damaged the mud guard then getting one from the wreckers and painting it would be a good idea .
Could be easier to remove the front guard with the wheel out too .
Have you tightened it up yet ??
PM me if you want me to have a look

THanks The Kid for helping change that front wheel guard. I'm not going to bother doing much with the broken orignal one. THink the black one looks better any way. And it looks like my bike has been painted. Used to be purple. can tell from the broken guard..

it a common thing on the zzr250's htey have 4 pop rivets that flog out......the only way i have found to fix them is put bigger rivets in so they hold the gaurd, putting bolts in of replacing the whole gaurd

I can confirm that you are not alone with this problem. It happened with my old ZZR250 also.
The rivets or whatever they are fall out and the front of the guard falls down onto the tire and rubs. The friction even melts the guard a little.
If anyone sees it beginning to happen to their bike I'd suggest getting onto fixing it quick as it stands out like dog balls and detracts from the bike dead sexy look!

I've had a bit of a 'clunk' on my zzr for a while and ahve traced it back to the front guard. there are four rivets holding the plastic guard to the metal bracket, and a couple of the rivets have come out. I just replacede them with a really small nut & bolt and it's great now... but I have to do some repaairs to the guard now.

I had the exact same thing with my old one. those rivets they use are weak as piss. just be carefull to check for stress cracks from it wobling around. mine nearly split in half
