Powder coating alloy heel guards

Wed Oct 15, 2008 8:09 pm

Hi,
I'd like to get my ZRX alloy heel guards powder coated black - can anyone recommend a place in Melb? These are fairly small (6" x 2" approx) - any idea of what the damage could be?
Thanks,
TC

Thanks Rob.
Whats the difference between PC and Anodising? How much (approx) and who would you recommend.

from my understanding of the terminology, powder coating is a baked onsolution on the top of a clean peice of metal, whereas anodising is a treatment where the surface metal is coloured and treated to give a finish. Aside from that i wouln't know of any benefits of one over the other.

Yep.... powder coating is that.... it is a suspended powder that is attracted to the metal that has a charge run through it, then the item is baked fusing the particles together forming a tough coating... note it does not look pretty

Anodising is an electroplating process where the metal is dipped in a solution & a charge is run through the material & does not form a thick coating & is effectively transparent ;)

And neither coating would last long on my heel guards.
