Rearsets from Thailand

Found these crusing Ebay. They look alright and for $300 odd bucks landed not too bad

Whaddya think?

they look pretty good........and if spares can be gotten at a reasonable price as well ..... they look pretty similiar to the 'Wet4U' rearsets, but much cheaper ??

How about you get a set and go 'crash-test dummy', in a manner of speaking ??

They are the same as the W4U ones only diff is the engraving on the sides & the W4U ones have more adjustment.... W4U has an extensive supply of spares so that makes for easy crash repairs, I bought a set + a heap of other stuff from them, so with a suitable discount they worked out about the same cost & being able to just go & pick up same day is a bonus the quality seems fine for the job they are not over engineered + are supplied with all parts required to fit

thanks Rob - sounds like these Thai rearsets might be worth a look ?? I always liked the look of the W4U jobbies, but the cost was a bit much, I like the black look, and have to say that those Gillies rearsets are just bloody awful !!!!

Spose you get what you pay for ... if you are willing to wait then reap the benefits of saving $$$, those Gillies are a bit rich as well as being ugly. Mate I am totally happy with the black ones on the 10 .... might even get some for the zed better start saving as im skint now

I keep looking at these 'cause of the price, but in the end I keep coming back to being fearful about what would happen to my bike (and me I suppose, I'm getting too old to bounce off the road too often) if I was leaned over into a corner, weighting up a peg, etc, when a piece of light-weight, under strength Thai alloy gives way and I go tumbling down the road. I got some much less bling non-adjustable ones from a pommy fella (Race Supplies Direct on eBay) and got them landed here for about $250/set from memory.

I keep looking at these 'cause of the price, but in the end I keep coming back to being fearful about what would happen to my bike (and me I suppose, I'm getting too old to bounce off the road too often) if I was leaned over into a corner, weighting up a peg, etc, when a piece of light-weight, under strength Thai alloy gives way and I go tumbling down the road. Thats a good deal ... apparently the Thai ones are designed that the peg will grind or snap, the bracket is quite thick alloy & that is not shown in the pics

I've got the "dummy" part pegged, don't know about the crash test though

At least the Thai ones don't fall off Just kidding mate. Cheap shot I know but it was too good an opportunity

why do you need rearsets glen??

i would worry about it till you start scrapin pegs. and then even then, i'll tell ya to HTFU!

for not a heap more money you could buy a "name" brand out of USA off ebay under $500 delivered

atleast then you should be able to go to your local accessories store to get spares.

the wet4U stuff is probably pretty convenient for that reason too. if you break a peg atleast you can call him up and go get a new one where as these thai ones you will have to wait and get spares shipped in (if they even sell spares).

i was looking at these thai ones as well a while back and even considered buying two sets (having the second set as spare parts should the need arise). in the end ive ordered some out of USA but it was a close contest between the wet4U stuff and the ones ive ordered.
