Bridgestone 012 tyre life

On a previous post i wrote i was montoring a tyre on a mates bike. The tyre was the Bridgestone 012 not the 012ss.

I was informed that it was superb in the wet and sticky on the road. I posted the tyre lasted for 8000kms. I got news the tyre was replaced on the weekend and since new its travelled 7281km, so not quite 8000kms.

Sorry for misleading anybody.

Ahh, that's better... I got similar mileage out of my 012. But that was down to the canvas.

The new 020 feels better than an 012 down at the canvas. :P

Just need a new front and I'll be set.

Havent I told you before to get rid of those crappy Dunlops???
How many teams in the MotoGP field use them?

Crappiest tyres I ever had on a bike.

I got a pair of 207's on mine.

I cant wait to change them over.

They have lasted too long.

But thats always the case. I bought the bike 4000km ago and they are still in good condition which sucks. They will probably last for another 40,000kms just because i dont want them too..........

Guys, I started with Dunlop 204's on the 7, they were OEM, but ripped real quick. Tried a few 207's (2f, 4r), they lasted well but seemed hard and pretty slippery in the real cold. How ever now I'm in love with the Michelin Pilots. Just wondered why no one had mentioned them? Tried Battle axes on my bruvas ZZR1100 and didn't like them, may be just coz its such a different bike to mine??
Pilots are the go for my money. Prob is Im a povo student I dont have much.

Jamie (one of our SA lurkers) uses the Michelins. He swears by them. I'm more than happy with the Bridgeys tho. Dunlops.... well, unless they are giving them away, I wont be using them again!

like i said, compared to the dunnies, the pilots are ace.
I was once told by a wise old man that he wouldn't put Dunlops on a wheel barrow. Gotta respect him coz his car will beats the zx7r to 200km every time! and guess what, it doesn't have dunnies either.

Jas
The d208's are better than the 207's
but having said that the 208 have slipped alittle while I was in Tassy
The front 208 is still newish but the rear is gettingdown.
So I'm only buying a rear . I'm not real keen on having two different makes but might do it anyway.
Looks like I might try the 012 on the back and when the front wears replace it with a 012 there as well.

The 65 prfile for the front tyre is my only problem.
I know dunlop make it but do the others.

Mario,

I'll be going a 020 on the rear and an 012 on the front. I'm not worried about losing the back, hence the sports tourer on the back, but losing grip at the front end isn't funny.

I may even give the Michelins a shot after the 020's finished with. That should be in about 10,000 kays. :)

Sounds good mario.

I've heards postive thinge about bridgestone.

We need to find a website that compares motorcycle tyres. Reviews that are true and not just posted by the manufacturer.
