Just thought I would post being the bike nut I am

My mate just had and although not a Kwaka a new set of BT-020 Battlax hoops fitted to his 97 YZF600 for the grand total of $463 fitted.

This was through Tyres for bikes at Albion in Brissy.

Dont know if this is pricey or competitive as am not up on the prices of tyres but thought I would let ya's know.

This is pretty good I think. I get my BT-020's for the following retail....
Front $184
Rear $264
Fitting $40
Total $488

Often my mech drops of one of the fitting charges - bringing it down to $468. So your price is pretty good. Not exceptional - but good nontheless.

In another thread i mentioned i go to Mick @ MTM(Goodna) PH: 3818 1208 and wouldn't go anywhere else :) .

Last set i got was in july this year and that was a set of Bridgestone BT 012 SS for $340 fitted including a 190 rear. These are ultraperformance tyres too(nice n sticky) .

Regards
Glenn(zx7r).

I can't remember what I paid for my front Diablo (Front Tyre) I can rember how much the rear cost.
The price included fitting..

$280 for the rear
$180 maybe for the front.. would have to try to double check..

Replaced a Metz (Front) and POS stock BT 0x0 (10 or 20), she handles so
much better.. Really boosts the confidents in the twisties having a decent pair of tyres.

Think I paid $150 for my front 019, and about $260 for my rear 020.

Yes, I get looked after by my local Kwakka dealer.

Thats pretty good, and without sparkin the tyre debate it seems Pirelli Diablo's or Michelen Pilots are the go.

anyone recommend a place in melbourne ? as soon as my tax return comes in i'm getting new tyres and a new helmet.

oh and do old tyres stick as well in the dry as new ones ? logic seems to tell me that as long as its not on the canvas it wont matter in the dry ... but thats not how they feel atm.

a couple of places in melb are pretty ok.

bob jane t-mart motorcycle tyre centre on elizabeth st city.

give brighton kwaka a call and see what he can do 4 u. its only a 40cent call.

there is also a thread on tyres and tyre places in melb.
